ABOUT

Holy Family Academy is an affordable college preparatory and STEM-focused career readiness Catholic high school for students of all faiths. No student is ever turned away because of economic need.

VALUES

We are deeply rooted in Catholic social teachings and our religion courses are aligned with the Pittsburgh Diocese though we operate independently. Children and families have thrived on our 10-acre campus for over a century under the care of the Sisters of Holy Family of Nazareth, known for excellence in education and is the same order that founded Holy Family University in Philadelphia. The Holy Family legacy recognizes the value and influence of family life. With the right combination of inspiration and guidance, Holy Family Academy students are encouraged to follow the best post- secondary personal pathway that leads to a career.

ACADEMICS

Our teachers combine blended, active- and project-based learning to ignite creativity. A rigorous college preparatory and innovative curriculum is made possible by an experienced faculty, small classes and community-based academic partners. Science, technology, engineering and math combine with art, religion and design to advance critical thinking and problem solving skills. Classrooms are equipped with modern technology, all students receive computing devices for home use, and academic coaching is available. Learning through service to others is also part of our philosophy. Holy Family Academy students are taught to find the root cause of injustice in order to create measurable and positive outcomes.

CORPORATE WORK STUDY EXPERIENCE

From freshman through senior year, students are paired with some of Pittsburgh’s premier employers and national brands to work one day each week. This work experience reinforces the future-ready skills introduced in the classroom, including communication, collaboration, complex thinking and decision making. Students explore career options with the help of a career coach, and start professional networks while building self-esteem, self-confidence and optimism.
