DIRECTOR OF ADVANCEMENT FOR PARISH AND SCHOOL

St. Louise de Marillac Parish is searching for a qualified, Catholic individual to employ as a full-time Director of Advancement to serve both the school and parish.  This position reports directly to the pastor, and is responsible for further developing and maintaining the advancement and fundraising programs for the school and the parish.

The Director of Advancement is a member of the parish staff reporting directly to the pastor and collaborating closely with the Business Manager, School Principal and Director of Curriculum, as well as with members of the School Advisory Council.  This individual will be a practicing Catholic with demonstrated skills in stewardship and fundraising, must be self-disciplined, attentive to detail, and possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and must possess the ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality.  Salary is negotiable and will be commensurate with demonstrated professional experience and competency.  Benefits include health insurance and retirement.

Responsibilities: 

SCHOOL RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising

·       Oversees and coordinates all fundraising for the school

·       Assists in recruiting school parents and members of the parish as volunteers

·       Manages and coordinates all strategies for donor cultivation & solicitation

·       Manages all communication pieces for school families regarding fundraising

·       Develops and implements strategy to promote EITC program, Angel Fund program, and to build the school endowment

Advancement Office Operations

·       Creates and manages office systems to support all development projects and operations.

·       Assists the Pastor, Principal, Business Manager and Parish Finance Council in the ongoing review of parish finances and annual budgeting process with regards to fundraising, donations, and capital improvements.

·       Works with the Principal, Curriculum Director, and Business Manager to develop and carry out long term planning and capital/technology improvements for the school. 

·       The Director serves as an ex officio member of the School Advisory Council

Enrollment, Public Relations and Advertising

·       Directs and coordinates all advertising

·       Develops strategies to promote our school’s mission and identity to both the parish and school communities as well as external constituencies.

·       Develops print and online materials to drive enrollment and retention of school students

·       Works with website developer and internal webmaster to maintain school website with current and relevant information.

Alumni

·       Directs and Coordinates all Alumni outreach

·       Develops and oversees an Alumni Database

Grant Writing

·       Explores new possibilities for school grants.

·       Works with appropriate persons to submit grants.

 

PARISH RESPONSIBILITIES

Offertory Giving

·       Develops and implements strategies to increase automated giving and to increase regular Sunday offertory

·       Prepares materials for giving insert in year-end statements to parishioners

·       Prepares materials and manages mailing for year-end letter to engage non-participating parishioners

Parish Share Program

·       Designs and implements strategies aimed at increasing participation in the annual Parish Share Program

Major Gifts/Planned Giving

·       Designs and implements strategies to cultivate major gifts and planned giving

·       Oversees the intake of all major gifts to the parish (including stocks, bequests, etc.).

Capital Campaign

·       Manages and tracks all donations to any Capital Campaigns

·       Directs major gifts to the Capital Campaign within the allotted time frame

Marketing

·       Provides information to webmaster to ensure website areas listed above are current and relevant.

·       Produces semi-annual parish and school publication, The St. Louise Herald

Capital Improvements

·       Works with the Pastor, Head of Maintenance, and Business Manager to develop and carry out long term planning and capital/technology improvements for the parish.

·       Secures the funding for such projects and works with Head of Maintenance to oversee completion and implementation of the projects.

Parish Finance Council

·       Attends Parish Finance Council meetings
