Parish History

St. Joseph was founded in 1992 as part of the diocesan reorganization and revitalization process.  The parish was formed by the merger of the three parishes then in Natrona: St. Mathias, St. Ladislaus and St. Joseph.  The new parish retained the name of St. Joseph.  Of the three church buildings, St. Mathias and St. Ladislaus remained open.  St. Joseph Church was closed at the time of merger and was destroyed in a fire on January 30, 2001.  A few years after that, a parish study determined that the parish did not need two churches.  On September 18, 2008 the parish closed St. Mathias Church.
