Refugees: Volunteer Training Dates

-A A +A

Want to help first generation Americans adapt to their new lives?

As a volunteer, you can help by teaching essential skills and helping families understand a new culture.  Those who are new to our country and don’t speak English or even have the ability to read and write in their own language need help with very basic skills – this is where your help can be invaluable.

We can pair you with a translator to help a refugee family:

·       understand what is in their mail;

·       understand the documents sent home from school;

·       navigate our grocery stores;

·       practice their English;

·       navigate our health care systems; and

·       so much more
