- What is the Missionary Cooperation Program?
  
  The Missionary Cooperation Plan (MCP) of the U.S. Catholic Church was started in the late 1930s and is conducted in dioceses across the U.S. It centralizes efforts of worldwide missionary organizations who wish to appeal to Catholics in the United States for prayer and financial support.
  
  Each parish within the Diocese of Pittsburgh is annually assigned a missionary group. Appeals can be made from June through the end of September.
