Position Summary: The Catholic Cemeteries Association of the Diocese of Pittsburgh is seeking to fill a full-time Accounting Clerk position at our Central Office location. The primary responsibility is to effectively and efficiently carry out certain data entry functions with integrity and based on Christian principles. Position Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform data entry for all accounting applications, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, general ledger and budget
Maintain cash activity files
Prepare daily bank deposits
Maintain customer ACH and lockbox files
Maintain sales contract files
Prepare customer billing statements
Review delinquent customer accounts and prepare related collection correspondence
Process data entry of accounts payable invoices & purchase orders
Prepare accounts payable check payments, reports and 1099 forms
Maintain accounts payable files including W9 forms
Communicate with customers, vendors and employees regarding statement and payment inquiries
Assist in the coordination and preparation of the monthly closing process
Analyze general ledger accounts and prepare correcting journal entries
Complete monthly reconciliations of cash accounts and various inventories
Perform monthly trust maintenance, including preparing and posting the required trust entries and prepare related monthly reports
Provide an interface between the accounting department and other departments
Complete special projects as assigned
Position Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent
Two to five years of accounting experience
Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as well as accounting software
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail in order to enter data accurately
Personal and professional integrity based on Christian values
