Assistant Organist (Part-time), Mary Queen of Saints, Aliquippa, PA We are seeking a dedicated and musically talented Assistant Organist for our Parish. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing music during various liturgical functions including, but not limited to, 2-3 weekend Masses, school Masses, funeral Masses, and devotions/para-liturgies as needed. Key Responsibilities:
Provide organ music for liturgical services, including weekend Masses, Holy Days of Obligation, weddings, funerals, and special parish events, under the guidance of the Music Director.
Assist the Music Director in directing and rehearsing the parish choir, instrumentalists, and cantors, nurturing their musical talents and spiritual growth.
Support the Music Director in the selection of hymns and liturgical music in accordance with the liturgical calendar, the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, and principles of Sacred Music as set forth by the Second Vatican Council and Musical Legislation of the Church.
Assist with the care and maintenance of all musical instruments and sound equipment.
3-5 hours a week of administration support to the Music Director, such coordinating musical activities, and managing music library.
Serve as a welcoming presence in the music ministry, helping to create an environment that encourages participation from parish members.
Aid in the provision of music education opportunities within the parish, such as cantor training or children's choir.
Qualifications: •Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church •Must lead a life that is in harmony with the moral teachings of the Catholic Church •Bachelor's degree in Organ/Sacred Music is preferred •Proficiency with the General Instruction of the Roman Missal •Experience in Choral Direction is preferred
