Campus Ministry Leader for PennWest California and W&J The Diocese of Pittsburgh is seeking a passionate Catholic disciple of Jesus to become the full-time Campus Ministry Leader serving PennWest California and Washington & Jefferson College. This role is pivotal in promoting and nurturing the spiritual development and well-being of students across these two diverse campuses. As the Campus Ministry Leader, you will drive the mission of our campus ministry at PennWest California (a public university serving 6,512 students) and W&J College (a private institution with 1,151 students). Your leadership will be central to fostering a vibrant faith community that supports students in deepening their relationship with Christ through authentic friendships and formation. Key responsibilities include:
Developing and implementing a comprehensive campus ministry strategy tailored to the unique needs of each campus.
Coordinating and facilitating opportunities for prayer, worship, and sacramental participation.
Leading and mentoring student leadership teams, missionary teams, and volunteers.
Creating and overseeing formation.
Organizing community-building events such as weekly student dinners, retreats, service trips, and pilgrimages.
Maintaining a strong and visible presence on both campuses, acting as a resource for students, faculty, and administration on matters of the Catholic faith.
Collaborating with diocesan Campus Ministry activities, meetings, and in-services.
Managing the budget and administrative tasks related to campus ministry activities.
Building relationships with alumni and coordinating fundraising efforts in collaboration with the development director.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree is required; a Master’s degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in ministry, particularly in relational ministry, discipleship, and evangelization.
Minimum of two (2) years of managerial experience.
A deep understanding of the Catholic faith and the ability to communicate its teachings effectively.
Strong organizational and planning skills, with creativity and ingenuity in ministry approach.
