The Dean of Students is a key leader of Franciscan University’s one-of-a-kind, vibrantly Catholic culture where students are formed as disciples of Jesus Christ through lives of charity and ongoing conversion to lead and to evangelize each other and the world. The Dean provides leadership for the Student Life division in the areas of housing, student success, student conduct, student assessment, and compliance. The Dean serves as a member of the VPSL’s Leadership Team and actively engages with other senior leaders to steward the mission of Franciscan University, frame policies and procedures, and strategize on ways to address major issues that affect the student experience. The Dean is a thought leader, trusted adviser, and action partner for the VPSL in tackling challenging student and community issues and collaborates with academic and non-academic departments across the university and represents the Student Life division in various internal and external settings.
