Saint Joseph High School seeks a Director of Campus Ministry to help create an environment which encourages and guides all members to contribute to the Catholic identity of the campus and the formation of a faith community which responds to the spiritual needs of students, teachers, staff, and parents. This position reports to the Principal.
Qualifications and Experience
Be an active, practicing member of the Roman Catholic Faith with an active sacramental and faith life
Deep understanding of and respect for the Catholic faith tradition
B.A. (a Master’s preferred) degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Studies or related field.
Experience in youth ministry and/or campus ministry
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask in a busy environment
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to work occasional nights and weekend
Components of Responsibility Worship and Prayer
Oversee the planning for school liturgies
Oversee the planning of prayer services, confessions, and adoration time
Communicates with Parish clergy in planning of services
Retreats
Design and oversee a four-year student retreat program
Develops, administers, evaluates and directs all retreat programs
○ Contracts with venues/services
○ Calendar administration
○ Communication with parents - permission slips. etc.
Pastoral Ministry
Collaborates with guidance and other departments regarding specific pastoral needs/concerns of students
Encourages students to discern the vocation for which God has created them
Is visible and present on the school campus and at school activities
Stays abreast of current developments in the area of school/campus ministry

Faith Formation
Work collaboratively with administration in the development of faith centered programs that involve alumni, supporters, parents and current students (meaningful community service events, retreats, liturgies, etc.)
Provides opportunities for students to lead various activities to be prepared for vocation and leadership roles
Assists with planning of activities for Catholic Schools Weeks in cooperation with Principal and Student Council
Works with non-Catholic students to determine needs and potential areas of programming to introduce them more personally to the Catholic faith
Summer Responsibilities
Lead a limited number of activities for incoming students over the summer
Lead a limited number of activity nights for local Catholic youth and SJHS students
Lead a mission trip through local organization
