Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish is seeking to hire a full time Director of Evangelization. Embracing the parish vision, the Director of Evangelization will oversee the parish’s efforts to bring people to an encounter with Christ. The Director is responsible for developing a strategic plan to grow the parish community of the Glenshaw and Allison Park areas as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. In collaboration with the Divine Renovation Network, this ministry will focus on the formation and enabling of parish leaders and parishioners to become missionary disciples. This position advances the catechetical and evangelical programs that draw all to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and a more intimate understanding of the Catholic faith, wherever they are on their faith journey.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate fully in the practice of the Catholic faith
Directly report to the Priest Administrator, with downline oversight of Faith Formation, Alpha, Outreach Youth Ministry, RCIA, and small groups as well as collaboration with Regional Elementary School Principal
Work with Director of Faith Formation to make catechesis an encountering experience for children and their families. (first 6 month focus area)
Work with Director of Youth Ministry to engage middle and high school students in programming that leads youth to a personal encounter with Christ
Work with the Outreach Coordinator to establish a structured mechanism to identify outreach opportunities supported by a robust volunteer recruitment plan to address ongoing outreach in the community.
Coordinate adult faith formation in a variety of formats to meet each person (parishioners 18 and over) on their faith journey, including but not limited to existing programs such as Alpha, bible study programs and RCIA.
Develop new faith evangelization opportunities inspired by Pope Francis’ vision of ministry that leads to an encounter with Jesus Christ to build a faith community through initiating and supporting small groups, for a more intimate faith experience.
Oversees the recruitment, training, formation, and mentorship of lay leaders in the parish, including the spiritual support and leadership development of ministry leaders
Identify and implement programs and initiatives that welcome and orient “newcomers” as well as teach, train and inspire current parishioners to become missionary disciples.
Work closely with Alpha Coordinator and Core Team to promote and run Alpha at least twice a year (St. Mary’s is currently running its 18th cohort of Alpha)
Coordinate Adoration, Praise & Worship, Evangelization speaker events at least quarterly
Articulate and support the parish vision as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, educating others on how to evangelize
Design recruitment efforts to engage parishioners in the range of offerings to support evangelization
Work with all ministry leaders to incorporate evangelization into their efforts
Maintain an evangelization budget

Required Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with study in Theology, Divinity, Pastoral Studies or equivalent
