Director of Youth Evangelization (Three-year term) Applications are now being accepted for the full-time (three-year term) position of Director of Youth Evangelization for St. Matthias Parish. The Director will move the parish forward with a parish pastoral plan by building the future presence of a Catholic Faith Community in Greene County, ministering and focusing on the spiritual needs of young adult families, young adults at the college level, and young adults at the high school level. The purpose is to assist them in being disciples of Jesus, building, forming, growing, and maturing their relationship with Jesus. This formation and growth will take place through faith-based experiences and encounters that are spiritual, social, catechetical, mission-oriented, leadership-centered, and engaging. Preferred Professional Requirements and Experience
Must be a fully initiated member of the Catholic Church in good standing.
Professional training in theology or evangelization. Minimum bachelor’s degree, the equivalent of a master’s degree in theology is preferred. Studies or a certificate in evangelization is a plus.
Is a person of prayer, able to share prayer with those he or she leads and must him or herself be evangelized. He or she needs experience in evangelizing others (i.e. at a college or adult level, in an evangelization network, at a parish or organizational level).
2-3 years in parish ministry.
Has administrative experience, ideally in the direction of some phase of parish evangelization, mission or discipleship or in some other administrative capacity that involves the direction of programs and personnel.

Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Adaptable to changing needs of parish community.
Is proficient at developing practical knowledge of the people who make up the communities in the parish grouping.
Has a thorough understanding of mission, evangelization, and religious alienation and pastoral judgement. Is able to deal with and understand the spiritual questions, confusion, pain and anger of others. Is joyful, compassionate, warm and committed to reconciliation and building of unity within the parishes that make up the parish grouping.

Routine Duties and Responsibilities College
Develop the Newman Club at Waynesburg University.
Foster and direct the Newman Club at Waynesburg University.
Meet with the students weekly on the campus of Waynesburg University.
Assist with planning of events (liturgical, social, and catechetical) that are engaging to the students.
Develop a peer leadership ministry for the students.
Act as a liaison to the Waynesburg University Campus Ministry Office.
Schedule events with the Waynesburg University Campus Ministry Office.
Meet with the faculty advisor of Waynesburg University and allow them to have an active role in the ministry.
Provide an active presence on the Waynesburg University campus (frequency to be defined).
Evaluate efficiency of programs from implementation to completion and identify points for ongoing improvement of processes and systems, to be carried out with the approval of the Pastor.
Participates in diocesan campus ministry activities, meetings, and in-services.
Manages the budget for campus ministry activities and events.
Assist with college campus ministry in whatever capacity is needed.
High School
Assist with the development of a high school youth ministry program for the parish.
Collaborate with the Youth Ministry/Faith Formation Team in the administration of the high school youth ministry program.
Collaborate with the adult core group of parents in the administration of the high school youth ministry program.
Evaluate efficiency of programs from implementation to completion and identify points for ongoing improvement of processes and systems, to be carried out with the approval of the Pastor.
Participates in diocesan high school youth ministry activities, meetings, and in-services.
Assist with the high school youth ministry/faith formation in whatever capacity is needed.
