EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR CATHOLIC PARISH CEMETERIES ASSOCIATION, A PA NON-PROFIT CORPORATION
Mission: To manage, operate, maintain and develop the Parish Cemeteries of the Diocese of Pittsburgh Corporation in keeping with the sacred nature of the Catholic cemetery, the Corporal Work of Mercy of burying the dead, and the expectations of the parish communities we serve. Primary Responsibilities of Executive Director:
Reports on the activities of the corporation to the Board of Trustees on a quarterly basis, and otherwise at the request of the Board.
Ensures performance of the mission of the corporation in conjunction with the pastors and parishes served by the Corporation, with particular emphasis on the religious nature of the burial of the dead.
Leads the corporation in a manner consistent with its affiliation with the Catholic Church and the diocesan bishop.
Coordinates all communications between management and the Board of Trustees.
Coordinates all board meetings and development of the board meeting agendas.
Implements all board-initiated directives.
Performs to the board approved budget.
Complies with the board approved Investment Policy.
Proposes and implements the strategic direction of the organization as approved by the board, including the creation of and implementation of the approved business plan.
Oversees all the daily operations of the corporation including cemetery operations, financial services, sales and family service and cemetery development.
Interfaces with and provides all necessary support to legal counsel in all matters requiring legal representation of the corporation.
Works with the Executive Director of Communications and Community Relations of the Diocese of Pittsburgh concerning all mass communications, or public relations matters pertaining to the corporation.
Is responsible for all official correspondence of the corporation.
Is responsible for compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements for cemeteries in Pennsylvania.
Responsible for hiring, development, and management of the department directors.
Responsible for all duties that may be assigned by the Board of Directors.
Is an active member of the Catholic Cemetery Conference, The International Cemetery, Cremation, and Funeral Association; the Western Pennsylvania Cemetery Association.
Qualifications: Must be a practicing Catholic. Must have extensive experience in cemetery operations and administration. Must have a working knowledge of all trusting requirements for cemeteries in the Commonwealth of PA. Must demonstrate extensive experience with the development of cemetery inventory and sales. Must have a minimum of five years of experience in cemetery management. Must have a working proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Outlook, WORD, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Must have effective time management skills. Maintain professional demeanor in dealings with others. Non-profit management experience is a plus. Ability to protect confidential material.
