Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor and Transfiguration Campus(s) Facilities Maintenance Employee, Part time 20 hours per week, Reports to Business Manager Minimum Qualifications: EDUCATION: High school degree or its equivalent and building trades / general maintenance certificate. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three (3) – Five (5) years’ experience in related field. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Strong knowledge of operations and experience with building systems including electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, HVAC, controls, hardware, roofing; Operation of power tools, routine construction and repair techniques; Ability to work well under minimal supervision; Capacity to take direction; Strong attention to detail; Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds as necessary. SUMMARY OF JOB: Provides maintenance, renovation, restoration, and upkeep of the parish buildings and grounds including mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. Conducts preventative maintenance, safety assessments, and energy conservation audits. On call for emergency response to the needs of both parish locations. REGULAR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform semi-skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and other minor repair work. • Operate a small truck or van. • Identify and analyze maintenance problems. • Develop corrective action plans for necessary repairs. • Prioritize electrical, plumbing, heating, carpentry and light construction assignments. • Monitor and control inventory of equipment and supplies. • Window and light fixture cleaning. • Maintain preventative maintenance programs, safety, and energy conservation audits. • Operate equipment and machinery such as generators, boilers, and air conditioners, locking devices, utility systems and power tools. • Perform maintenance and repair of equipment. • Grounds work may include mowing, pruning, and ice/snow removal. • Coordinate and supervise outside contractors/suppliers. • Take delivery of materials and donations. • Maintain inventories/records as directed. • Pickup and delivery of articles, equipment, and furniture. • Coordinate inspection of buildings regarding security and any existing safety conditions.
