Food Service Manager
Pittsburgh-East Regional Catholic Elementary Schools, Inc. (PERCES) is seeking a Food Service Manager to oversee for the operation of school nutrition program for all PERCES schools under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). This individual will:- Manage all food service staff at each location to ensure all staff is compliant with NSLP requirements.
- Maintain accurate record keeping for NSLP reporting and audits.
- Complete all required training to remain compliant with NSLP requirements.
- Work with PERCES Regional Administrator, Regional Business Manager, and staff to ensure food service is consistent with PERCES standards.
- Create menus and offer specials to increase student participation in the PERCES school lunch and breakfast programs.
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent educational experience with academic major in specific areas; * OR
- Bachelor’s degree in any academic major and State-recognized certificate for school nutrition directors; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in any academic major and at least 1 year of relevant school nutrition programs experience; OR
- Associate degree or equivalent educational experience with academic major in specific areas* and at least 1-year relevant school nutrition programs experience OR
- High school diploma (or GED) and at least 3 years of relevant experience in school nutrition programs.
- Training Standards
- At least 8 hours of food safety training is required either not more than 5 years prior to starting date or completed within 30 days of the employee’s start date.
