CHAPLAINS

The Reverend Joel I. Barstad, of the Ruthenian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Protection of Mary of Phoenix, is relieved from his assignment as Chaplain to the Courage Chapter in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, effective June 1, 2022.  He will be returning to the Holy Protection of Mary Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Phoenix. 

The Reverend Adam C. Potter, at his request, is appointed Chaplain to the Courage Chapter in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, effective June 1, 2022.  Fr. Potter remains Parochial Vicar of Mary, Mother of God Parish, McKeesport/North Versailles/Versailles/White Oak and part-time Chaplain at Serra Catholic High School.

The Reverend Jinjo Kim is appointed Chaplain to the Korean Catholic Community, effective April 25, 2022.

At the presentation of the Very Reverend Michael Darcy, C.O., Provost of the Congregation of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri, the Reverend Thomas Skamai, C.O., is appointed Chaplain to the Catholic patients at Saint Margaret Hospital, Aspinwall, effective July 1, 2022.

The Reverend Jeremy J. LEAVE OF ABSENCE

At his request, the resignation of the Very Reverend John B. Gizler, III, as Regional Vicar of the North Vicariate of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, has been accepted, effective Friday, July 1, 2022.  At the same time, Father Gizler has been granted permission to begin a leave of absence for health reasons.

Deacon Richard J. Caruso from Assumption of the  Blessed Virgin Mary, Bellevue, Sacred Heart, Emsworth, Saint John Neumann, Franklin Park, to the newly established Regina Coeli Parish, Bellevue/Emsworth/Franklin Park, effective Friday, July 1, 2022.  In addition, he is assigned to assist in the Ministry of Service and Charity at the newly created parish and to continue as a spiritual director to the local chapter of EnCourage.
