As an Overnight Direct Service Advocate, you will provide a vital role in maintaining a healing and safe environment for overnight guests. The role will oversee building security and assure confidentiality of clients and location. The advocate will be expected to stay awake and alert throughout the overnight shift to effectively oversee the building security and promptly meet the clients needs. Due to the sensitive nature of our work, it is important that the advocate understands abusive dynamics, knows how to handle and diffuse crises, and works with the Case Manager(s) and other staff to ensure all needs are being met for the vulnerable women. The position will ensure that the women are provided safe overnight stays and includes an ongoing standard of care from all Gift of Mary employees. The advocate will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to work in the environment of a startup company and be an effective team player. Responsibilities * Protect: Stay awake and alert throughout the overnight shift to effectively oversee building security and promptly meet client’s needs. You will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and healing environment for clients. * Administration: Able to maintain accurate case records, updates reports, and all documentation. Equipped to complete nightly intakes for overnight shifts and update appropriately for daytime shift. * Support: Upholding program guidelines, providing leadership in various situations, and fostering effective communication with clients. * Workplace Culture: Join the team in providing a supportive and transformative environment aligned with the Gift of Mary mission, vision, and values. * Crisis management: Prevent and manage crises through the overnight shift. * Communication: Provide pertinent feedback to other staff to ensure continued progress for clients. * Collaborate: Work with supervisors and Case Manager from different shifts to effectively oversee and meet women’s needs. * Positivity: Facilitates positive interaction with clients and fellow staff as evidenced by professional maturity, respect for others, a team-centered approach, and overall maintenance of confidential information. * Flexibility: This part-time position requires overnight coverage. Shifts will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 am, Monday – Thursday. (i.e., minimum of two 12-hour shifts).
Requirements * Strong servant leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills. * Knowledge and commitment to Catholic teachings and practices. * Proficiency with emergency or crisis procedures. * The candidate must maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom. * The candidate must be able to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds. * Mission-driven and self-motivated; operate productively without day-to-day oversight, well organized with strong attention to detail. * Must have experience mentoring and accompanying people at different stages of their discipleship path. * CPR trained (training will be provided if necessary). * High school diploma or equivalent. * Successful completion of a full background check.
