Our Lady of Mount Carmel is seeking a full time, salaried Parish Social Minister. The Parish Social Minister exercises leadership in organizing the faith community to respond to parish and community needs and to address the conditions that cause those needs to exist. This role is responsible for developing and administering the components of a social ministry program. This person provides staff support to the apostolate committee and ensures that the program is integrated with the other ministries of the parish. The Parish Social Minister is responsible for welcoming diverse and multicultural Catholics and building community among themselves and the whole parish.
Requirements:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
Three years’ experience working directly with a church agency, a nonprofit social services agency or overseeing such work. Working with large groups of volunteers in a supervisory role.
40 hours a week; requires a flexible and variable schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
