Out of an abundance of caution and in collaboration with health and safety protocols from local, state, and federal health agencies, the pre-school programs at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Elementary School (Butler, PA) will close until after Thanksgiving break.
The school was notified that one person associated with the pre-school tested positive for COVID-19. The Pennsylvania Department of Health website lists Butler county in the “substantial” level for community spread of the coronavirus for the week ending November 6, 2020.
“Out of precaution, we feel the need to close our pre-school programs until after Thanksgiving break. We are hopeful to reopen our pre-school on December 1, 2020, unless the COVID-19 circumstances require other measures. Our goal in closing our pre-school program for this time period is to allow those who are affected time to quarantine and recover thoroughly. We recognize the difficult situation this closure can cause families but are committed to keeping the safety of our students, faculty, and staff as our number one priority,” said Ashley Bauer, principal.
Parents were notified of the closure, and will be updated through their regular channels of communication.
