Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Flexible work hours are acceptable Monday to Fridays, except Wednesdays. Flexible hours must reflect an 8-hour workday. Teachers must be at their assigned duties by 8:00 AM. Teachers may not leave before 3:30 PM. The administration reserves the right to schedule an individual or all staff meeting when necessary any day from 3:15 to 4:00.

Essential Responsibilities:
Instruct students in small groups using listening and spoken language techniques
Write annual IEPs for assigned students and lead/participate in IEP meetings
Write and submit weekly lesson plans based upon the IEP goals for each child
Plan and implement activities which effectively address the lesson’s objectives
Monitor the progress of each child through language samples, observation checklists and other appropriate assessment tools
Mark IEP goal/objective data on chart and keep assessment documents for each progress period with the data chart
Make certain that for each student in your homeroom, all goals/objectives are updated each marking period by other staff who may be responsible for them
Complete quarterly progress reports of IEP goals for parents
Schedule a staffing for each student prior to the IEP and file notes from the staffing in the network folder
Maintain accurate professional records of students’ attendance, (anecdotal records, etc.)
Develop and consistently implement an approved specific multi-tiered classroom management plan
Use standard behavioral incident form to document any significant student’s behavior of concern
Collaborate with administration and counselors to address specific students’ behavioral concerns
Advise parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations; student's achievements; developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment
Model conversation, manners, clean-up activities, listening skills, etc. for the purpose of demonstrating appropriate social and interpersonal behavior
Collaborate in development of age-appropriate physical, mental and social skill development, as well as self-advocacy goals
Organize age appropriate indoor and outdoor learning activities
Supervise students in the classroom, during recreation and lunch as assigned
Attend and participate in department and faculty meetings
Attend professional meetings, education conferences and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competencies
Collaborate with teachers, clinical professionals and administration to address student needs, department needs and make curriculum adaptations
