Full-time position with benefits is available for a Preschool Teacher of the Deaf. This role involves creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters language and communication skills, social development, and overall growth. Duties / Responsibilities:
Write and submit weekly lesson plans for each student following the CASLLS curriculum.
Plan and implement learning activities that effectively meet the lesson objectives.
Conduct formative assessments of listening and spoken language skills.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students can develop positive self-esteem, build relationships with peers, and develop social skills.
Create and maintain an effective classroom management plan.
Supervise students in structured and unstructured settings throughout the school day.
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to discuss student progress, successes, share strategies for supporting learning at home, and address any concerns.
Conduct parent-teacher meetings or workshops to facilitate collaboration and involvement in the child’s education.
Participate on the IEP team for assigned students; leading the meeting when assigned.
Write annual IEP present levels, goals, objectives and SDIs.
Monitor the progress of IEP goals and objectives and keep progress monitoring data on each student.
Report quarterly progress to parents.
Attend and participate in department and faculty meetings.
Collaborate with teachers, clinical professionals and administrators to address student needs, department needs and make curriculum adaptations.
Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Education and Experience)
PA state certification for teacher of the hearing impaired
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
PA state clearances or the ability to obtain them
Professional Development:
Stay updated on current research, best practices, and advancements in deaf education and early childhood development
Attend workshops, training sessions, or pursue further education related to their role
Physical Responsibilities:
Safely move around the school building
Move within the classroom to attend to students’ academic and physical needs
Support the physical needs of children
Safely escort a student to any area of the building
