Following guidance from the Allegheny County Health Department, Seton La Salle High School (Mt. Lebanon) will have a virtual learning day tomorrow (Friday) and the school building will be closed for all activities at least through Sunday, November 8, 2020.
This action is necessary to allow adequate time for contact tracing after a second person at the school tested positive for COVID-19 within one week. School administrators, in collaboration with the Allegheny County Health Department, will make a decision on when to reopen and resume activities based on the results of the contact tracing and pending test results.
Parents were informed of the need for the closure and will be updated through the school’s regular communication channels.
"We opened with 5-day, in-person learning in mid-August and have made it this long without the recommendation of closure. We look forward to welcoming our students and staff back into our building next week," said Lauren Martin, principal of Seton LaSalle High School.
“I am proud of and grateful for the hard work and dedication of our school administrators as we all continue to navigate through the pandemic,” said Michelle Peduto, director of Catholic Schools. “Our priority remains keeping our students healthy, safe and learning.”
