Youth Minister, Part Time, Guardian Angels Parish, Upper Allegheny Valley

Guardian Angels Parish, a vibrant faith community in the Upper Allegheny Valley, is seeking a dynamic part-time Youth Minister to develop and implement new programming for students in grades 8 – 12. Reporting to the Faith Formation Director, this individual will provide opportunities for catechesis and service to strengthen the faith of the youth in the parish following the principles of relational ministry. In collaboration with the pastor and parish staff, the Youth Minister’s responsibilities and tasks will include:

Providing vision and goal-centered coordination for the parish's efforts in ministry to 8^th – 12^th grade students in the local community.
Coordinating and leading ministry activities such as regularly occurring youth nights and service opportunities.
Collaborating with the Faith Formation Director to effectively transition 8th grade students into high school ministry programming and becoming involved in the Church’s liturgical life.
Using various means of communication (e.g. social media, bulletin, website, Flocknote, etc.) to engage the parish at large, parents, and high school aged youth.
Identifying and recruiting volunteers who will assist with this ministry.

The Youth Minister will have a combination of education and experience working with high school aged students. The individual will be in good standing with the Catholic Church.
