Sister Judith Marie Kubicki - Felician Sisters, Provincial Minister
Originally from Buffalo, NY, Sr. Judith Kubicki holds a BA in music from Daemen College and an MA in English from Canisius College, as well as an MA in liturgical music and a PhD in liturgical studies from Catholic University of America.
Before her election as provincial minister in 2021, Sr. Judith was an associate professor in the Department of Theology at Fordham University for 19 years and academic dean at Christ the King Seminary for four years. She is a member of the North American Academy of Liturgy, Societas Liturgica, Universa Laus and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians.
As provincial minister for the Felician Sisters of North America, Sr. Judith is responsible for the spiritual life of the congregation.
Father James. J. Chepponis
Father James J. Chepponis is a priest of the Pittsburgh Diocese, ordained in 1985. He received his B.A. in music from St. Fidelis College/Slippery Rock University, with a major in organ and a minor in voice. Fr. Jim received an M.Div. and M.A. in systematic theology from Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, Emmitsburg, MD. Since 1996, Fr. Jim has served the Pittsburgh Diocese as Director of the Office for Music Ministry. His work includes providing music for all of the primary Diocesan liturgies, directing the Diocesan Choir, and serving as music resource person for parishes throughout the Pittsburgh Diocese. From 2003-2019, Fr. Chepponis was pastor of St. John Capistran Parish in Pittsburgh, and currently serves as senior parochial vicar of Resurrection Parish, a merger of St. John Capistran and St. Thomas More churches. He has led workshops on pastoral music throughout the country, and was a participant in the creation of the document The Milwaukee Symposia for Church Composers: A Ten-Year Report. His published articles on liturgy and music have appeared in Pastoral Music, The Hymn, and GIA Quarterly. Fr. Jim has over 100 published compositions with MorningStar Music, GIA Publications, and World Library Publications. His music has been performed in Carnegie Hall, New York City, as well as in Masses celebrated by Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis.
