Join Dry Bones Ministries and the Assisi Arts Community for this special opportunity to view a newly completed painting of St. Thérèse of Lisieux before it is permanently installed at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Camp and Retreat Center (Volant, PA).
Entitled "The Vocation of St. Thérèse," this original composition is inspired by the disposition of St. Thérèse in pursuing her vocation, as well as the significance of her experience of the "Dark Night of the Soul" in the full blossoming of her service to God. The painting encourages the viewer to consider how this experience prepared the patron saint of missions to fulfill her vocation of sharing the love of God with the world.
The event takes place at Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 7 to 9pm at The Port (3620 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201). Free parking is available in the lot of St. Augustine Church (225 37th St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201).
The evening will begin with an introduction by Fr. Joseph Freedy, followed by the unveiling of the painting and a presentation by the artist, Ann Schmalstieg Barrett.
Admission is free. Light refreshments will be provided.
While walk-ins are welcome, please RSVP by Monday, May 8th so we can have a headcount for planning.
