The Pittsburgh Mercy Parish Nurse & Health Ministry Program, part of Pittsburgh Mercy and Trinity Health, serving in the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy, will host a virtual day retreat, “From Darkness into Light: Encountering the Heart of Christ,” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 via Zoom.
The theme of this year’s retreat is based on the spiritual exercises in the book, “Putting on the Heart of Christ: How the Spiritual Exercises Invite Us into a Virtuous Life.” The retreat’s Scripture theme is Proverbs 16:3 NLT, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” The retreat will explore what it is like to wait on God, the experience of loving service, and the fruit of prayer. The day will consist of Scripture, prayer, music, videos, guided contemplation, and group discussions lead by the retreat facilitator. A lunch break is included in the agenda.
The retreat costs $45 per person and is payable to the Pittsburgh Mercy Parish Nurse and Health Ministry Program. Limited, partial scholarships are available upon request by contacting the office at 412- 232-5815 or emailing ParishNurse@pittsburghmercy.org.
