What is National Faith & Blue Weekend?
Bishop David Zubik encourages parishes in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh to participate in National Faith & Blue Weekend, October 7-10, 2022.
National Faith & Blue Weekend is a joint community outreach program focusing on resolution and reconciliation. The initiative by religious and police leaders intends to bring law enforcement officers and citizens together using local houses of worship in their community to facilitate.

How did this event affect our diocese in 2021?
In 2021, police officers from local municipalities greeted parishioners at some of our Catholic Churches as they arrived for Mass. This initiative was well received and benefitted Catholic parishes, police departments, and the communities they serve. Local participation in 2021 included:
- Greater Pittsburgh MAD DADS
- 5 Catholic parishes
- 11 Catholic churches
- 17 Catholic Masses
- 12+ Law Enforcement Organizations
- 17 Members of Greater Pittsburgh MAD DADs
