Bishop Zubik announces the following clergy appointment:
RELEASE
The Reverend James B. Farnan is released from priestly service in the Diocese of Pittsburgh effective Monday, July 8, 2024. Father Farnan will take up priestly ministry in the Diocese of Columbus, as Parochial Vicar of Saint Paul the Apostle Church, Westerville, OH, for a period of three (3) years, effective Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
At his request, the Reverend David W. Green is relieved of his responsibilities as Parish Chaplain at Saint John XXIII Parish, effective Monday, April 15, 2024. At the same time, Father Green has been granted permission to begin a six-month leave of absence for health reasons.
At his request, the Reverend Alexander J. Schrenk is relieved of his responsibilities as a graduate student at the Catholic University of America and has been granted permission to resign as diocesan Censor Librorum, effective Saturday, May 4, 2024. At the same time, Father Schrenk has been granted permission to begin a six-month leave of absence for personal reasons.
PERMANENT DEACON
Deacon Keith G. Kondrich is reappointed to assist in the Ministry of Sacrament, Ministry of Word, and Ministry of Service and Charity at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Braddock/Churchill/Forest Hills/Swissvale/Turtle Creek/Wilmerding and Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish, Duquesne/Homestead/Munhall/West Mifflin/Whitaker, effective Friday, April 19, 2024. At the same time, Deacon Kondrich is reappointed to assist in the Ministry of the Service and Charity at the Allegheny County Jail.
At his request, Deacon Stephen J. Kisak has been relieved of his appointment to the Ministries of Sacrament, Word, and Service and Charity at Saint Matthew Parish, Etna/Glenshaw/Millvale/Reserve, and has been granted a leave of absence without faculties for up to six months, effective Monday, April 1, 2024.
