Special Ministries
The Reverend Jack E. Demnyan from weekend assistance at Saint Paul Cathedral Parish, Greenfield/Hazelwood/Oakland to weekend assistance at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Observatory Hill/Perrysville/Ross/West View with residence at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, effective September 16, 2024. At the same time, Father Demnyan will remain as Canonical Consultant in the Office of the Tribunal.
The Very Reverend Thomas W. Kunz, VE is appointed to serve as a part-time Adjunct Professor of Pastoral Theology at Saint Vincent Seminary, effective Thursday August 15, 2024. At the same time, Father Kunz maintains his assignments as Episcopal Vicar for Canonical Services, Associate General Secretary, and Vice Chancellor. Father Kunz will also continue as Chaplain to the Pittsburgh Chapter of Legatus.
Senior Parochial Vicar
The Reverend Robert J. Miller from Senior Parochial Vicar, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Observatory Hill/Perrysville/Ross/West View to Senior Parochial Vicar, Regina Coeli Parish, Bellevue/Emsworth/Franklin Park, effective Monday, September 16, 2024. At the same time, Father Miller will remain as Confessor for the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Baden, and is assigned as Confessor for the Little Sisters for the Poor, Benton Avenue.
Chaplain
The Reverend Joseph G. Luisi is assigned as Institutional Chaplain to the Nursing Homes located in the territory of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, Clairton/Jefferson Hills/Pleasant Hills/West Mifflin, effective Monday, October 21, 2024. At the same time, Father Luisi will remain as Hospital Chaplain to Jefferson Hospital.
Leave of absence
At his request, the Reverend Joseph E. Sioli is relieved of his responsibilities as Senior Parochial Vicar at Regina Coeli Parish, Bellevue/Emsworth/Franklin Park and Confessor for the Little Sisters of the Poor, Benton Avenue, effective Monday, September 16, 2024. At the same time, Father Sioli has been granted permission to begin a six-month leave of absence for personal reasons.
Permanent Deacon
At his request, Deacon Michael J. Gatto has been relieved of his appointment to the Ministries of Sacrament, Word, and Service and Charity at Saint James Parish, Western Washington County and Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, Southeast Washington County, effective Monday, August 12, 2024.
