This appointment comes with the support of the Catholic High Schools of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Inc. Board of Directors along with the recommendation of the North Catholic High School Board of Directors.
In his appointment letter to Dr. Jansante, Bishop Zubik wrote: “I have every confidence that you will continue to build upon North Catholic High School’s strong Catholic culture and academic rigor, one that, in accord with the school’s mission, will help to assure ‘the formation of Christ-centered young adults who are leaders in their communities, known by their intellectual, practical, ethical, and human skills.’”
Dr. Jansante has served most recently as principal of Archangel Gabriel Catholic School in Robinson Township. Formerly, he worked as assistant superintendent in the Bethel Park School District, and as high school principal at Mt. Lebanon High School, Quaker Valley High School and Elizabeth Forward High School. For 11 years, he served as a religious education teacher at Saint Thomas More Parish (now Resurrection Parish).
As principal, Dr. Jansante will have primary responsibility for the day-to-day academic affairs of the school and will work closely with the Reverend Charles Bober, president, in service to the North Catholic community.
Dr. Jansante said: “This is a time in my career when I can celebrate being able to couple my work in the field of education with my Catholic faith. It’s very exciting for me. I’m really looking forward to getting to know the community, staff, and students at North Catholic High School. It’s going to be a wonderful experience.”
