Out of an abundance of caution the Butler Catholic Elementary School (Butler, PA) fifth grade will participate in remote learning effective immediately and until December 16, 2020. The action is necessary after someone involved with the class received a positive COVID-19 test. Others will need to quarantine due to potential exposure.
School administrators made the decision in collaboration with appropriate health agencies and in consultation with the Diocese of Pittsburgh Catholic Schools Office.
Sr. John Ann Mulhern, Butler Catholic Elementary School principal said, “We want to keep our students here in school for in-person learning. It's getting harder and harder to keep this goal. We will keep the well-being of our students and staff uppermost in the decision we make."
As the COVID-19 situation continues to be very fluid, school administrators will monitor data and share updates with school families through their regular channels of communication.
