Oakland Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a dynamic and results-driven part-time Communications and Media Specialist to effectively market our school to fulfill our mission of providing a Catholic education for young women in the Pittsburgh area with a focus on our three pillars of Spirituality, Scholarship, and Service.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain a marketing plan on where and how best to market Oakland Catholic in the community based on an annual budget. Marketing events should be focused on promoting our mission for enrollment efforts but also to enhance our outward presence in the community.
Establish and maintain a plan and listing of events, organizations, etc. that Oakland Catholic will sponsor and at what level based on an annual budget.
Design, schedule and implement electronic newsletter communications with input from different departments. Assist with design and implementation ideas regarding athletics, college counseling, and any other school offices as needed.
Maintain and strengthen the school's website and social media presence in a strategic and purposeful way that promotes the school’s mission, culture, and brand.
Drive overall digital marketing efforts, including but not limited to paid searches, search engine optimization, social media channels, email marketing, management and relations with social media advertising partners.
Update, redesign, and collaborate on website content, design and improvements.
Take photos at school events and on campus for the website, social media posts, and school publications as needed; engage and interview faculty and students for stories and testimonials for the website content and posts. Work with the school photographer as needed for direction with regard to marketing needs and designs.
Be involved with the production of the OC Review, two times per year (Winter/Summer) by coordinating and organizing content, collecting necessary photos, and assisting with proofs.
Work with the Director of Admissions to assist with marketing campaigns, including the use of the website, drip campaigns, creation of workflow emails campaigns, and social media posts and campaigns to optimize admissions and promotion efforts.
Work with the Athletic Director to create flyers and overall efforts to promote athletic events.
Other duties as assigned by the President based on ever changing needs to promote the outward facing image and mission of the school.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
Ability to understand and articulate the school’s Catholic mission.
Passionate and approachable professional who is creative and reflective.
Exceptional verbal, written, communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and time management.
Demonstrated collaboration, relationship-building, and personal skills.
Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Finalsite, Canva, Publisher, Adobe, or similar type software.
Familiarity with all social media platforms.
This is a part-time position Monday-Friday - 25 hours a week. Very limited evening and weekend events.
