Bishop Zubik announces the following clergy appointment:

PASTOR

The Reverend Thomas J. Gramc from Administrator of Our Lady of the Angels, Lawrenceville and Saint Maria Goretti, Bloomfield/Friendship/Garfield, to Pastor of the newly established Saint Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, Bloomfield/Garfield/Lawrenceville, for a term of six (6) years, effective Monday, January 1, 2024.

The Reverend Thomas J. Burke from Sabbatical to Pastor of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, Elizabeth/Glassport/South Allegheny Area for a term of six (6) years, effective Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
 

PAROCHIAL VICAR

With the concurrence of the Very Reverend Robert Marva, OFM Cap., Provincial Minister, the Reverend Jonathan Ulrick, OFM, Cap. from Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Lawrenceville and Saint Maria Goretti, Bloomfield/Friendship/Garfield, to Parochial Vicar at the newly formed Saint Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, Bloomfield/Garfield/Lawrenceville, effective Monday, January 1, 2024.

REPLACEMENT MINISTRY

The Reverend John B. Gizler, III from Leave of Absence to Replacement Ministry in the North Vicariate, effective Tuesday, January 2, 2024, with private residence.

RETIREMENT

The Reverend Richard J. Thompson from Retired with an Assignment as Senior Parochial Vicar of All Saints Parish, Butler, to full retirement, effective Tuesday, January 2, 2024. At the same time, Father Thompson has been given permission to take up a private residence.
 

IN RESIDENCE

The Reverend Nicholas J. Argentieri from in residence at Saint Maria Goretti Parish, Bloomfield/ Friendship/Garfield, to in residence at Our Lady of the Angels Rectory of the newly formed Saint Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, effective Monday, January 21, 2024. At the same time, Fr. Argentieri will continue in his status as an Institutional Chaplain serving at Children’s Hospital of UPMC.

The Reverend Douglas A. Boyd from in residence at Saint Maria Goretti Parish, Bloomfield/ Friendship/Garfield, to in residence at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Polish Hill, effective Monday, January 21, 2024. At the same time, Fr. Boyd will continue in his status as a Retired Priest with an Assignment, serving as the Chaplain at Magee Womens Hospital of UPMC.

The Reverend Pierre G. Sodini from in residence at Saint Maria Goretti Parish, Bloomfield/ Friendship/Garfield, to in residence at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Polish Hill, effective Monday, January 21, 2024. At the same time, Fr. Sodini will continue in his status as a Retired Priest with an Assignment, serving as the Chaplain at UPMC Shadyside.

DEACONS

Deacon Blaine J. Carnprobst is appointed to assist in the Ministry of Sacrament, Ministry of Word, and Ministry of Service and Charity to the newly established Saint Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, Bloomfield/Garfield/Lawrenceville, effective Monday, January 1, 2024. At the same time, Deacon Carnprobst’s assignment to the parishes of Our Lady of the Angels, Lawrenceville and Saint Maria Goretti, Bloomfield/Friendship/Garfield will come to an end because those parishes will cease to exist.

Deacon Richard T. Fitzpatrick is appointed to assist in the Ministry of Sacrament, Ministry of Word, and Ministry of Service and Charity to the newly established Saint Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, Bloomfield/Garfield/Lawrenceville, effective Monday, January 1, 2024. At the same time, Deacon Fitzpatrick’s assignment to the parishes of Our Lady of the Angels, Lawrenceville and Saint Maria Goretti, Bloomfield/Friendship/Garfield will come to an end because those parishes will cease to exist. Additionally, Deacon Fitzpatrick will continue his Ministry of Service and Charity to the Office for the Diaconate of the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
