Bishop Zubik announces the following clergy appointment: special assignments; pastor; administrator; senior parochial vicar; parochial vicar; leave of absence.


Special Assignments

The Most Reverend Mark A. Eckman from Pastor of Resurrection Parish, Bethel Park/Upper Saint Clair to Episcopal Vicar for Clergy and Consecrated Life and Director of the Department for Post-Ordination Formation for Clergy, effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023, with continued residence at the Saint Thomas More Church site of Resurrection Parish, Bethel Park/Upper Saint Clair.

The Reverend Aleksandr J. Schrenk is appointed part-time Canonical Consultant in the Department for Canonical Services, effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023.  At the same time, Father Schrenk will continue in his current assignments as Parochial Vicar of Saint Raphael the Archangel Parish, Chaplain to Bishop Canevin High School and Censor Librorum of the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

The Reverend Michael S. Sedor from Adjunct Judicial Vicar to Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023 for a term of six (6) years.  At the same time, Father Sedor maintains his responsibilities as Director for Canonical Services and continues in residence at Corpus Christi Parish, Bridgeville/Cecil.

The Reverend Dennis P. Yurochko from Tribunal Judge to Adjunct Judicial Vicar, effective January 3, 2023.  At the same time, Father Yurochko will maintain his responsibilities as Pastor at Corpus Christi Parish, Bridgeville/Cecil.

The Reverend Michael R. Ackerman from Senior Parochial Vicar at Resurrection Parish, Bethel Park/Upper Saint Clair to Pastor of Resurrection Parish, Bethel Park/Upper Saint Clair, effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023, for a term of six (6) years.  At the same time, Father Ackerman will remain as part-time Chaplain at Seton-LaSalle High School.

The Reverend Edward L. Yuhas is appointed Pastor of Saint James Parish, Washington, effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023, for a term of six (6) years. At the same time, Father Yuhas will continue his assignment as Pastor of Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, Southeast Washington County.

The Reverend Alan E. Morris from Senior Parochial Vicar at Archangel Gabriel Parish, Kennedy/McKees Rocks/Robinson, to Administrator of Archangel Gabriel Parish, Kennedy/ McKees Rocks/Robinson, effective Thursday, December 1, 2022.


Senior Parochial vicar

The Reverend Thomas J. Lewandowski is appointed part-time Senior Parochial Vicar at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, Southeast Washington County, effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023. At the same time, Father Lewandowski will continue to serve as part-time Senior Parochial Vicar at Saint James Parish, Washington, and as part-time Chaplain to PennWest California University, Washington & Jefferson College and Waynesburg College.

The Reverend Michael R. Peck is appointed Senior Parochial Vicar at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, Southeast Washington County, effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023. At the same time, Father Peck will continue to serve as Senior Parochial Vicar at Saint James Parish, Washington.

The Reverend Michael A. Zavage from Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Observatory Hill/Perrysville/Ross/West View, to Senior Parochial Vicar at Saint James Parish, Washington and at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, Southeast Washington County, effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

The Reverend Michael J. Faix from Parochial Vicar at Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, Clairton/Jefferson Hills/Pleasant Hills/West Mifflin, to Parochial Vicar at Corpus Christi Parish, Bridgeville, effective Monday, January 16, 2023.  At the same time, Father Faix will continue to serve as part-time Chaplain at Seton-LaSalle High School.

Deacon Harry J. DeNome from Saint Monica Parish, Beaver Falls/Chippewa Township/Darlington, and Saint Blaise Parish, Midland, to Ministry of Sacrament, Ministry of Word, and Ministry of Charity and Service at the newly established Saint Augustine Parish, Beaver Falls/Chippewa Township/Darlington/Midland, effective Monday, January 2, 2023.

Deacon Michael J. Deacon Jeffrey A. Hirst is appointed to assist in the Ministry of Sacrament, Ministry of Word, and Ministry of Service and Charity at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, Southeast Washington County, effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023. At the same time, Deacon Hirst will continue to assist in these ministries at Saint James Parish, Washington.

Deacon Barry A. Krofcheck is appointed to assist in the Ministry of Sacrament, Ministry of Word, and Ministry of Service and Charity at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, Southeast Washington County, effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023. At the same time, Deacon Krofcheck will continue to assist in these ministries at Saint James Parish, Washington.

Deacon Thomas W. Raymond is appointed to assist in the Ministry of Sacrament, Ministry of Word, and Ministry of Service and Charity at Saint James Parish, Washington, effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023. At the same time, Deacon Raymond will continue to assist in these ministries at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, Southeast Washington County.


Leave of Absence 

At his request, the resignation of the Reverend David G. Rombold, Jr. as Parochial Vicar at Corpus Christi Parish, Bridgeville/Cecil, has been accepted, effective Wednesday, December 20, 2022. At the same time, Father Rombold has been granted permission to begin a six-month leave of absence for personal reasons.
