Department: Faith and Family Ministries
Reports To: Vicar General
Supervises: Office Staff
Overview: The Director of the Faith and Family Ministries office is responsible for managing the execution of associated ministries in addition to overseeing general operations of the office and providing guidance to staff members. The associated ministries include religious education, youth ministry, Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), Scouting, and all family life programs. Key Responsibilities:
Managing all associated ministries and providing direction to staff members to ensure efficient implementation
Creating a strategic plan to include evaluating current ministry programs to ensure that they focus on the family and spiritual needs of parishioners while aligning with contemporary societal issues
Establishing training programs to be presented to volunteers and staff
Presenting to diocesan parishes and schools to encourage participation in and continued support of related initiatives
Administering ongoing guidance and oversight to ensure presentation methods are up-to-date and meeting audience expectations
Fostering ongoing relationships with community agencies and support groups while recruiting volunteers, mentors and certified program staff
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Required:
Actively practicing the teachings of the Roman Catholic church
Able to satisfactorily complete background checks and training applicable to diocesan requirements
Bachelor’s degree in theology or ten years of related experience
Five years of practical experience in facilitating community events to various audiences and faith-based ministries
Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and maintain professional boundaries
Proficient time-management and organizational skills
High level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and presentation technology
Capable of presenting professionally in appearance, communication, and demeanor
Able to work collaboratively with lay and religious population in order to lead by influence
Working Conditions: FLSA Status: Religious worker not covered under FLSA regulations. Not entitled to overtime or minimum wage.
Work Status: Full-time
Physical Requirements: Able to lift 25 pounds, sitting and standing for extended periods
of time, walking short distances, repetitiously using keyboard
Hours Per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Other: Evening and weekend hours and travel
