Director of Religious Education Job Description: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish is seeking to hire a full time Director of Religious Education. Embracing the parish vision, the Director of Religious Education will oversee the parish’s catechesis of children in grades 1-8 and their families. This position advances the catechetical programs that draw all to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and a more intimate understanding of the Catholic faith.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate fully in the practice of the Catholic faith
Directly report to the Director of Evangelization, with downline oversight of catechists
Work with Director of Evangelization to make catechesis an encountering experience for children and their families, which may include large changes in format
Collaborate with Blessed Trinity Academy for sacramental preparation
Recruit, motivate, and provide appropriate formation for volunteer catechists
Articulate and support the parish vision

Demonstrates mature personal awareness for developing healthy and constructive relationships with catechists and families
Exhibits strong and proven supervisory and management skills and fosters teamwork
Ability to prioritize work according to milestones and deadlines
Excellent communication and people skills
Build relationships quickly and interact with 70+ parish families
Self-motivated, creative, and engaging to positively impact parish participation from families
Preferred but not required: Technology savvy, musical abilities
Required Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with study in Theology, Divinity, Pastoral Studies or equivalent
A minimum of five years of experience in parish ministry and/or management of a not-for-profit organization
Proven track record in coaching or developing others
Five or more years of leadership experience in parish ministry desired
Five or more years of leadership/personnel management experience
