Applications are now being accepted for the position of Director of Safety and Security in the Department of Facilities Management and Maintenance in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. This is a full-time position located at the Diocese of Pittsburgh Pastoral Center (Green Tree area). This position plans, recommends, coordinates, and implements the policies and procedures for the safety and security of the clergy, employees, visitors, and contractors at the Diocese of Pittsburgh Pastoral Center and other Diocesan-controlled offices and properties. This position also plans and recommends the policies and procedures for the safety and security at the parishes and Catholic Schools within the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Qualifications for the Director of Safety and Security position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Business Management, or related field required;
Advanced training or certification in safety and security preferred;
Minimum of five (5) years’ of safety/security experience with supervisory experience required;
Three (3) years of experience in surveillance systems;
Extensive knowledge of safety and security operations;
Excellent management and supervisory skills;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Extensive understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety;
Outstanding surveillance and observation skills;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
