The Indiana Catholic Community is looking for an individual who has a personal commitment to a life of discipleship (daily prayer, frequent sacraments, faith in action, and openness to the movement of Holy Spirit) and the heart to form and equip Youth and Young Adults to be missionary disciples. Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee weekly Youth Ministry programming for grades 6–8 and 9–12 Schedule opportunities for youth and young adults outside of weekly program, e.g. social events, retreats, service opportunities, etc.
Coordinate with Campus Ministry to build and grow peer ministry opportunities between college students and teens
Recruit, train, motivate, and evaluate all adult and student volunteers, ensuring compliance with diocesan training, policies, and procedures
Oversee sacramental preparation process for Confirmation candidates in 8th grade
Work in collaboration with other parish staff in scheduling, visioning, planning, and implementing activities, events, etc.
The Ideal Candidate:
…is enthusiastic about building meaningful relationships with and accompanying a diverse array of youth, their parents, and young adults into a living relationship with Jesus and His Church
...possesses a strong knowledge of the Catholic faith, including the ability to use exegesis to proclaim the Gospel to unpack Church teachings
...has real Youth Ministry experience as a leader or missionary to teenagers and/or young adults
...has a proven ability to lead a team of volunteers, comprised of adults and students
...possesses a degree in Theology, Religious orCatholic Studies, Evangelization, or Catechesis
...is teachable and willing to work under the direction of the Pastor in collaboration with the Faith Formation Team.
