Bishop David Zubik Celebrates Holy Week 2020 Activities Via Live Stream Because the coronavirus (COVID-19) has pre-empted the traditional observances of this holy season, Bishop David Zubik will be celebrating Masses and prayer services daily via live stream from the chapel at St. Paul Seminary. The live stream may be accessed through the diocesan website,
www.diopitt.org.
“This Holy Week will be unlike any other that I’ve ever celebrated and the same is true for you, too. Clearly, we’re going to miss the opportunity to be with so many people during the course of these holiest of days, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have the opportunity to really look for ways to connect with God and connect with each other,
” Bishop Zubik said. “This pandemic has limited us, but it has not and
cannot limit what God can do for us through the power of His love and Grace. “
Liturgies leading up to and including the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday mark the most important week in the Catholic Church. The holiest three days of the year, known as the Triduum, are celebrated from the evening of Holy Thursday through the Easter Vigil. The focus of Holy Week is a remembrance of the suffering and death of Jesus, leading to a deepened experience of the joy of His Resurrection on Easter.
