Maintenance/Facilities Director Job Description 7am – 3pm Monday – Friday POSITION SUMMARY: The school maintenance/janitorial worker is responsible for all preventive and daily maintenance, cleanliness, and repairs of the school facilities and grounds at Christ the Divine Teacher Catholic Academy, Aspinwall, PA. REPORTS TO: School Principal CLASSIFICATION: Salaried employee---- with benefits, as set forth in the Regional Personnel Manual, effective immediately The school maintenance/custodian is responsible for daily and preventative maintenance, cleanliness, and repairs of the school facilities and, at times, the grounds. Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The school maintenance worker is responsible for ensuring that the Christ the Divine Teacher Catholic Academy facilities remain clean and in working order.
Must be able to follow oral and written directions;
Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers, supervisor, administrators, and school-community members;
Respond to maintenance requests from staff in a timely fashion;
Responds to emergency situations (e.g. broken/clogged pipes/drains, faucets, fixtures, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns;
Performs basic repair, cleaning and maintenance on indoor facilities;
Outdoor grounds: shovel snow and/or salt sidewalks and steps (before and/or during the school day); keep playground, sidewalk, and other walking areas clear of leaves and other debris; keep bushes/trees trimmed from playground areas and steps;
Assists in keeping the school facility clean throughout the day including, at times, restrooms/hallways or wet washing carpets after accidents;
Empty and remove trash;
Place orders for needed supplies (such as cleaning or maintenance supplies necessary);
Maintain all equipment in a safe condition and good working order;
Assist with a variety of installations and repairs;
Repair/patch chipped paint and or other patching that is required;
Assist with emergency drills, as needed;
Move and transport miscellaneous items from the building or transport items from other schools;
Arranges furnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for meetings, events which may include: setting up chairs/tables, podiums, projectors, microphones, etc.;
Assist in moving classroom/cafeteria/office furniture;
