Exempt X Non-Exempt JOB TITLE: PT Maintenance/Janitorial Position Days/Week: Part-time (9-12 hours per week) Reports to: Pastor/Administrator & Maintenance Supervisor Summary of Job: The Maintenance/Janitorial Worker position is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness and repair of parish facilities at all church sites. Performs a variety of facility and equipment maintenance duties. May perform various routine maintenance and repairs, including electrical and plumbing duties, based on skill level and experience. Also performs custodial duties including, but not limited to, cleaning services (e.g. trash removal, mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, etc.) in the church, school buildings, church offices according to a weekly schedule. Education & Experience: Over 21 years of age;
Successful completion of safe environment training and background clearances;
High school diploma or GED;
Valid PA driver’s license;
Possess knowledge of procedures, practices, tools, and equipment used in maintenance
Knowledge/Skills: Ability to move, load and unload equipment and supplies weighing 35 pounds and heavier;
Able to work independently and without direct supervision;
Able to walk long distances around church buildings;
Able to bend, stoop, squat and reach; climb ladders and scaffold;
Able to make sound judgment decisions related to all types of emergencies and safety matters.

And
Responsibilities:
- General cleaning of all parish buildings and keeping them maintained and in good condition
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in all parish buildings
- Cleaning and stocking all restrooms in all parish buildings
- Clean up spills in all parish buildings with appropriate equipment
- Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green space and parking lot by: cutting grass, trimming, raking and removing leaves and debris from grounds; trimming trees, shrubs, and bushes, and in winter by removing snow from walkways, stairs, and parking areas and apply ice melt as needed
- Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up
- Notify supervisor of major repairs
- Moves and transports furniture, books, and miscellaneous items from buildings
- Delivery of materials and donations
- Perform rough painting and path plastering
- Secures and stores all cleaning supplies and equipment upon completion of cleaning
- Assists in setting up tables, chairs and other equipment as needed
- Operates a variety of gasoline-powered mowers and weeders
- Clean and polish brass items, as needed
- Maintain inventory of seasonal votive candles and notify supervisor as needed. Change candles in church buildings, as needed
- Window and light fixture cleaning and repairs
- Floor maintenance, including the stripping, sealing, waxing of floors using wet mops and high-speed buffer
- Assists in other areas related to overall maintenance of the parish when needed
Other Duties: Perform duties as directed by the Supervisor(s).

- Obtain all Safe Environment Clearances as required by Parish, Diocese of
