Responsibilities:
Serve the high school youth through prayer, study, retreats, service projects, social events, fundraising, and trips/pilgrimages. The youth minister is expected to visit the local High Schools to encourage participation. This person is also expected to interact with Mary of Nazareth Catholic School and our middle school program (EDGE) to recruit those in 8th grade and help them transition into high school youth ministry.
Qualifications:
- Strong adult faith-formation and ability to convey the faith.
- A college degree and/or certification in youth ministry or theology is preferred but not required.
- Excellent recruiter of youth, dynamic personality in terms of attracting youth.
- A love for youth and ability to relate well with them, in touch with the times.
- Collaborative with clergy, staff, parents, and parishioners. Able to attend monthly staff meetings or be present via conference call/zoom.
- Highly skilled in current technology to connect with youth.
- Available to work primarily evenings and weekends.
- Complete Diocesan Safe Environment Requirements.
- Salary is negotiable.
