Christ Our Savior Parish (Northside) seeks a part-time (20-25 hrs/week) Pastoral Minister to serve the elderly on the Northside of Pittsburgh, and assist with funeral Ministry (including for the Shrines of Pittsburgh).
Responsibilities include coordinating the parish Meal Ministry Team which delivers 300+ dinners to seniors six times a year; planning other outreach to seniors (clean-up days, card writing, health clinics, home Holy Communion calls) ; managing holy season activities (Advent Morning of Service, parish almsgiving drives), and many other activities to support parish life and be sure seniors feel connected to the parish.
Funeral ministry includes being the point of contact for all funerals, blessing services and committals coming into the parishes, coordinating funeral Masses, connecting with families about the Mass, providing pastoral care to grieving families, and occasionally being involved with the actual funeral (server, lector). Also includes managing the annual Mass of Remembrance and other related service.
