Applications are now being accepted for the position of Program Coordinator in the Office of the Diaconate of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. This is a full-time position located at the Diocese of Pittsburgh Pastoral Center.
This position provides operational and administrative support to the Office of the Diaconate by working independently as well as a team member with other staff to facilitate the efficient operations of the department using organizational, problem-solving, technical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Some responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, directing inquiries, scheduling appointments, and assisting in planning of periodic days of recollection, annual retreats, and other events. In addition, this position assists with the processing of potential aspirants for newly called classes.
Qualifications for the Program Coordinator position include:
Associate’s Degree preferred;
Minimum of two (2) years’ in a similar role;
Good telephone and interpersonal skills;
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail;
Excellent proofreading skills;
Able to operate office equipment including computer, copier, and telephone;
Proficient in Microsoft Office Business Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher);
Knowledge of database management is preferred;
Familiarity with general accounting/bookkeeping;
Ability to maintain professional demeanor in dealings with others;
Familiarity with the Catholic Faith and an understanding of the Order of Deacons;
Able to protect confidential information.
