The Regional Student Support Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the academic success and development of students within the region. This position involves collaborating with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to implement effective strategies that enhance students’ overall academic experience. A successful candidate will be dedicated to upholding the Catholic mission and values while fostering an environment of academic excellence.
Professional Development:
Facilitate and organize professional development workshops for teachers to enhance their instructional skills and knowledge of best practices.
Stay current on educational trends, pedagogical methodologies, and technological advancements relevant to academic support.
Assessment and Data Analysis:
Oversee the implementation of standardized assessments and analyze data to identify areas of improvement.
Work with school leaders to develop action plans based on assessment data, ensuring continuous academic improvement and growth.
Student Support Services:
Collaborate with school administrators, Intermediate Units, and special education coordinators to address the diverse academic needs of students.
Implement strategies to support students with varying learning styles and abilities.
Travel between SRCES schools to offer support.
Understand/interpret psychological reports and IEPs.
Parent and Community Engagement:
Foster strong relationships with parents and the local Catholic community to promote a collaborative academic environment.
Organize and participate in academic support meetings to encourage parent involvement throughout their child's academic journey.
Resource Management:
Manage and allocate academic resources effectively, including textbooks, technology, and other educational materials for students who need academic support.
Assist in identifying and securing grants or other funding opportunities to support academic initiatives.
Curriculum Development and Implementation:
Collaborate with school administrators and teachers to develop and implement effective curriculum strategies aligned with Catholic teachings.
Provide resources for academic support to ensure curriculum alignment with educational standards and Diocesan guidelines.
Catholic Identity Integration:
Ensure that academic programs are integrated with the Catholic identity and mission of the schools within the Region.
Collaborate with school leaders to incorporate faith-based elements into the curriculum.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Special Education preferred, administrative experience, and/or extensive background in special education.
Practicing Catholic with a deep understanding and commitment to Catholic teachings.
Several years of experience in special education, with a focus on curriculum development, instructional leadership, and academic support.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of educational trends, assessment strategies, and best practices.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, parents, and community members.
Strong understanding of evaluations, psychological reports, and IEPs.
