Bishop Zubik announces the following clergy appointments:
PARISH CHAPLAIN
The Reverend Frederick W. Gruber is relieved of his assignment of parochial ministry at the parishes of Holy Family, Oakmont/Plum/Verona, and Christ the Divine Shepherd, Monroeville/Penn Hills, as well as Parish Chaplain at Holy Family Parish, effective September 7, 2020. Father Gruber will maintain his appointment as Parish Chaplain to Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish where he will focus on the sacramental ministry to the healthcare and nursing facilities in the area. Father Gruber is granted permission for a private residence.
CHAPLAIN
The Reverend Jeffrey M. Craig to Chaplain (part-time) to the students and staff of North Catholic High School, Cranberry Township, effective September 8, 2020. Father Craig maintains his responsibilities as Parochial Vicar to the parishes of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Bellevue; Saint John Neumann, Franklin Park; and Sacred Heart, Emsworth.
RETIREMENT
In accordance with the provisions of the Priest Personnel Policy, and at his request, the Reverend Albert J. Semler has been granted permission to resign from his current assignment as Senior Parochial Vicar of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Wilmerding/Woodland Hills Area, effective September 30, 2020. At the same time, Father Semler has been granted permission to retire from active ministry and take up residence at Archangel Gabriel Parish, Kennedy/McKees Rocks/Robinson.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
At his request, the Reverend David G. Rombold, Jr., Parochial Vicar of Corpus Christi Parish, Bridgeville/Cecil, is granted a leave of absence for personal reasons in a private residence, effective August 21, 2020.
