Director/Teacher Job Description
Approximately 20 hours per week/M-Th/10 months a year
Serving 45-55 families per year
Seeking someone who is dependable, flexible, decisive, creative, compassionate and organized. Good communication skills, diplomatic problem solving, calm leadership skills, empathetic and able to delegate duties are a must.
All Pennsylvania and Diocesan clearances and a Bachelor’s Degree are required.
Experience working with young children, ages 2-5, preferred.- Oversee daily program activities
- Supervise teachers, assistants and professional assistant
- Hire, train and guide new staff members
- Establish policies and communicate them to staff and families
- Propose and manage budget
- Must be a lead teacher in one of the classrooms
- Provide and approve communication to staff and/or families
- Work with staff to effectively communicate with parents about any child’s progress or concerns
- Coordinate and work with specialists for child services
- Update, modify and develop program plans and curriculum goals
- Assist staff and develop themes/calendars /lesson plans for each classroom for the school year
- Develop each classroom’s roster
- Manage child-to-teacher ratio
- Ensure and coordinate the maintenance and cleaning of each classroom and the Preschool area
- Organize and implement the Breakfast with Santa fundraiser as part of the preschool budget
- Be present at arrival and dismissal times for all classes when able
- Organize and implement summer school/camps/extended Wednesdays (optional)
