Position: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Province Chief Financial Officer
Requirement: A degree or similar experience in accounting and familiarity with investments. Accounting software experience, preferably Sage Peachtree Accounting for Windows, Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel.
General: The position requires good interpersonal communication skills. The majority of the communication will be with members of the religious community. The person should be a practicing Roman Catholic.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM
Duties: Assist the CFO with the following:
FISCAL
Prepares budget for Provincial Office.
Reviews budgets of various friaries, the St. Fidelis Development Office, Archconfraternity of Christian Mothers and the Capuchin Development Center and assists in the preparation of the budgets if requested to do so.
After all budgets have been approved prepares a consolidated budget for the Province.
Prepares monthly an income and expense statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement for the Province and all related entities. Compares the statements to the budget and explains any differences between actual and budget of more than 20%.
Prepares other reports and analyses for CFO to present the Provincial and Council.
Performs routine cash management and short-term investment programs for operating cash, reconciles all bank statements.
Preparation and mailing of all accounts receivable invoices.
Proper recording of all fixed assets.
Compilation of year end GL entries to facilitate review/audit and close out of accounting books.
Ensures the proper identification and recording of all monetary receipts.
Gathers and provides information to auditors for the annual review/audit by outside auditors.

INVESTMENTS
Reconcile all investments and make appropriate bookkeeping entries.
Prepare monthly investment transfer reports and provide to CFO.
