Bishop Zubik will be undergoing surgery this coming Monday, February 21. The surgery is scheduled to repair a significant tear in his left shoulder and will take place at UPMC Mercy.
In addition to providing this information, Bishop Zubik requests prayers from everyone, and says, “I have full confidence in my well-respected surgeon and his very capable staff.”
He went on to note that following surgery, his left arm will be incapacitated for approximately six weeks with a view to full recovery within six to eight months, assisted by regular physical therapy.
“Given my past history of back surgeries, I feel that I am well on the way to becoming a ‘bionic bishop.’ “
“It is my intention to the best of my ability to fulfill my commitments. I beg your patience and prayers that I may do so. It is my hope that I will be ready to embrace Holy Week with both arms,” Bishop Zubik said.
