With gratitude, we receive today’s update on the health of our Holy Father, Pope Francis, and continue to pray for his strength and well-being. As he unveils a three-year synodal plan shaped by the voices of the faithful worldwide, we are reminded of the Church’s mission to walk together in communion, participation, and mission.
This call to deepen our synodal journey comes at a profound moment—the Jubilee Year—when pilgrims from across the world, including many from our own diocese, travel to Rome as Pilgrims of Hope. Their journey is a visible sign of our commitment to Christ’s call.
In the Diocese of Pittsburgh we echo this vision through The Church Forward, our own path of renewal and mission. May we continue to build a Church that listens, accompanies, and brings the hope of the Gospel to all.
Let us pray for Pope Francis, for the success of the synodal path ahead, and for one another as we journey together in faith.
